Ok guys, here is my post for my project.

I will be buttoning up the new shortblock for my GT here pretty soon, I just need some bearings and a free weekend.

The specs of it are...

- 5.4L Iron block
- Bored to 5.5L (333CID)
- Decked to bump compression a hair, and I mean a little hair.

- Manley forged pistons
- Manley forged H beam rods
- ARP 2000 rod bolts
- F-150 Lightning forged crank

The pistons are an 18 CC dish which gives it a nice low compression for some good boosting. Somewhere in the low to mid 8:1 range.

Going on top of the shortblock will be...

- 3V SOHC Mustang GT heads ported by MMR.
- Crower Stage IV blower cams
- Stock Mustang GT 3V Intake with CMCV delete

Add to that some other basics like longtube headers, Dr. Gas X, Magnaflow catback, etc and I'm expecting to see roughly 380 RWHP/450 RWTQ Naturally Aspirated.

Next on the list to follow will be a Centerforce DFX Clutch and Terminator T56 with upgraded input shaft, working back to an aluminum driveshaft, 33 spline axles, 3.55 gears, and some other goodies.

Suspension will follow, then the project will be rounded out with a Vortech Supercharger.

EVERY part that goes into JustAGT will be available here in our WMR store and all the work is done by Myself and Rey at T6M.

I know I know, it looks like a complete rusted waste, but just hang in there with me.

Well, I drug the stand out and found the right size bolts. Got the wrong length so I went back and got the longest bolts they had.

I can't get the alignment dowels for the transmission off the block now to mount it to the stand. It got a little late and once I put my son to bed I had to put the BFH away.

I'll dive into that tomorrow and hopefully get it on the stand, the final clean up, and painted ready for assembly.

Here are some pics of everything after the machine work. You can see what a difference the hot tank made, even though there is still quite a bit of cleaning to do.

This weekend I'm going to mount it on the stand, clean it up, and get it ready for assembly.

I was able to get a few things done with the motor this evening.

I got the alignment dowels out of the block finally. Well, I got one out and I broke one off in the block which I will have to address later. Either way I was able to mount the motor to the stand bracket. I have a buddy coming over in the morning to help me put it on the stand.

I figuired since I was out there and I already had the things, I would start some of the cleanup and prep of the block.

I used a chemical called CLR along with a few wire brushes and started to clean up the top half of the motor. It cleaned up very nice so I decided to put a quick layer of high temp flat black paint on it.

I am very happy with the way things came out so far. Looking at the previous photos this thing was a mess but its cleaning up nicely. Assembly is not to far away. Here are the pics.

Right side cleaned, Left side not.

Everything scrubbed, masked, and ready for paint.

Well - its on the stand, cleaned, one coat of paint, and ready to be assembled. I need to order up some plastigauge, freeze plugs, main and crank bearings, and a thrust bearing. It's almost time.

I must say...you have more initiative than I. I have my IRS torn in pieces, been there for a few weeks. I think I might actually put it back together sometime this week lol.

I don't know if I call it initiave, I'd probably say I just spend my fair share of time in the doghouse. So I moved the dog house into the garage with my toys wink.gif

I stopped by Barnes & Knoble at lunch today and picked up Sean Hylands book on rebuilding modular engines.

Its about 120 pages of 95% good information. Lots of good technical data and specs.

Well that works too lol. At least yours lets you spend money while you're in the doghouse.

looks good man. i think that your convincing me to do a 5.4L conversion instead of a blowerlol. may take a lil longer but man that tq is awesome!!!

i know a guy that put a built 05+ gt engine in his car (forged internals, big cams, and ported heads, stock 05+ intake) and dyno'd 370rwhp 370rwtq thru a manual. so your numbers are not too far fetched!
